Skearus
The Dark, Master of Assassins Symbol: Two Red Glowing Eyes Surrounded By Shadow. Alignment: Neutral Evil (NE) Portfolio: Assassins, Shadows, Darkness, Deception. Domain: Evil, Death, Trickery Favored Weapon: Foe Sapper (Dagger)
History: Skearus was not always a god. Infact he is one of the youngest gods of the plane. Born a mortal he quickly became to most feared assassin in the realm at the time. Legend has it he braved the ruined city of Azule alone and came back a god. He quickly gained power amoung the dieties by assassinating quite a few demi-gods.
After some time Galatus, God of the Sun and Moon grew tired of Skearus's thirst for power and attempted to slay the god of assassins. Galatus underestimated Skearus and was slain. His twin children O'Ma and Ra'Ma to this day seek revenge for the fathers death. Many times these three have faught and each time it has ended in a draw. He has also had many run ins with Yazard, because the lord of murder wants Skearus's Assassin portfolio. Breakdown of Religion: Skearus is one of the most feared gods of the realm. One of three greater evil gods of the plane, he is a calculating, methodical killer. He believes emotion when it comes to killing is a weakness.
His religion teachs you to be self-reliant and to not trust anyone, even him. All his priests are taught poisons and anatomy to be more effective killers. Most of his churches are hidden and his followers hide there loyalty to him as well. Clerics: As a cleric to Skearus you are expected to live almost two lives. One that is your false cover to gain access to different places, the other your true self, your assassin self. Each of his followers have an assassin handle (SlipKnot, DarkRose) and many times the more feared the name, the more he favors you.
If given the chance they will slay a follower of Ra'Ma and O'Ma without a second thought. Skearus's priests might be the most dangerous assassins in the realm. They survive on wit and skill alone, cause if they are found out they are on there own. Enemies: O'Ma, Ra'Ma, Yazard and D'lam Allies: Re'phet and Deagothia

Bythola “The Plague Witch” Symbol: A Human Female Face Covered in Fungus and Rot Alignment: Chaotic Evil Colors: Green and Black Portfolio: Filth, Disease, Plague, and Pestilence Domains: Evil, Death, Destruction Favored Weapon: The Wilted Mourning (Morning Star)
Description of the Church:
Bythola wields one of the smallest covenants of followers. Not many will revert to the life that Bythola offers, many would much rather die than becomes a vessel of disease. Many of Bythola’s devoted are commoners who were infected and preferred not to die. The priests of Bythola become carriers of all disease, and tainted beyond all cure. Their insides are corrupted and warped, with distorted growths, vile liquids and sometimes internal limbs. Viscous, black blood flows through their veins and if split open, this can cause irritation, pain and disease to any who are splashed. The disciple learns to suppress the taint so it does not appear on the outside, and in fact some of the most powerful followers of Bythola can be very beautiful indeed. Others that worship Bythola do it out of fear. They pay tribute to the Plague Witch in hope of preventing ailments. Death is a final resort to Bythola. She would much prefer a person live out their live suffering from an ailment, passing it on to others, then to see them just die. For this reason, her followers are not usually melee orientated, relying more on spell casting ability. If a follower is forced to use a weapon then they usually go for rusty weapons coated in poison or disease, which will rip the skin and infect the wounded, rather than severing limbs.
Bythola’s Enemies:
Aushkia is definitely Bythola's nemesis and they will come to blows physically if need be as once the taint has devoured a follower of Bythola, there is little an Aushkian can do but end their 'suffering' (although Bytholites might not see it as suffering). Bythola takes great delight in plaguing Aushkians, her chosen are usually picked from followers who have managed to inflict disease upon Aushkians that they cannot cure. The Plague Witch doesn’t care whom she infects, making no gods followers safe from her wrath. The only god to ever ally with Bythola is Re’phet, and that’s because many of her minions are immune to infection and are also vessels of disease.
Bythola’s Worshipers:
Bythola might not have many dedicated followers but many common folk would worship her out of fear. They might say a short prayer everyday just as a ward against illness and disease. Bythola is the one who inflicts disease and Aushkia is the one who cures it. However, people inflicted with diseases that are so disgusting they are shunned by society might in fact not seek Aushkia for a cure but go down a different path. They would much prefer other people be inflicted with the disease, sharing the same hatred by society. This is where someone will seek Bythola and become one of her most dedicated disciples, traveling the world to spread the disease that has caused them so much solitude.
The Plague Witch has quite a few followers who are druids. Some may have turned their backs on nature, for whatever reason, and seek to destroy nature. They inflict plagues upon the creatures of the forests, cause rot in plants and plant life, stripping lush grass from the plains until it is a barren wasteland of dead vegetation. Other druids may seek Bythola as a means of removing unwanted settlers. Druids have access to contagion and are immune to poisons themselves. Hence, a plague that infects only humans would be a much more efficient way of removing them from the area without harming the land.

Othus The Watcher, The Prophet
Symbol: Watchful Eye. Alignment: Neutral (N) Portfolio: Learning, Discipline, Prophecy, Wisdom Domain: Knowledge Favoured Weapon: Staff of the Eye (Staff) Description of the Church: The Church of Othus is as simple as any other church, but with an added benefit. It has an extensive archive of knowledge openly accessible to the community. All of the books inside the library can not leave the library via a magic incantation on them. This is to keep out book burners, burglars, and any other people who would do such. Role of the Church in the Community: After the church is finished, there will be a big celebration of a grandeur design. All proceeds will go toward providing more books and better books to better educate the community. Furthermore the church will take an active role in providing a school system for the young children of the lands of Mel'heron.
Description of the Churches: The Temple of Othus is one of a kind. It is presumed to be the largest source of knowledge, although some still think the Enclave is bigger. It also is a boarding house for travellers in need of sanctuary from the weather, monsters outside, or even the law. Visitors may take sanctuary in the Temple of Othus and are allowed to stay there to try and gather a case for themselves. The Temple of Othus is a place of Neutrality, some cases this rule varies obviously in some ways all handled at the Clergy's discretion. There is rumoured to be a hidden area of each temple that contains the most important and dangerous information and possibly artefacts. Knowledge is power.
Relations of a Priest/ess to the Church: A Priest of Othus is very close to his temple. He usually lives in the same city, or actually in the Temple itself. Priests of Othus are sent out to explore the lands of Mel'heron and seek out as much knowledge to add to the Temple of Othus as possible. Advancement in Hierarchy: After a Priest has returned from his pilgrimage he is welcomed back to the temple where he will usually spend his last of his years as a Bishop or Archbishop in some cases. Pilgrimage; is over when he is contacted by Othus himself in some form of a vision or a sign, such examples can include a visual dream-like image during real time, or a series of riddled signs. They usually involve some form of a prophecy and almost always bear the mark of Othus.
Attitude toward Demons, Devils and Evil Gods: The Deity of Othus is a neutral deity and just watches history unfold. In some cases exceptions are made such as when guarding the Temple itself or the surrounding city and lands. Othus is neutral and untrusting of most other deities as knowledge is power and he holds all the keys and secrets of everything including the future.
Attitude toward War: Any War that resides on territories of the same as the Temple will have the full services of the Clergy of Othus. Priests may partake in their own personal affairs to defend their homes if they must but not in the name of Othus will such acts be done.
Dealing with Enemies of the Church: The Clergy of Othus will do its best to negotiate their way out of any conflict if possible. If such extreme situations happen the Clergy has access to many magical artefacts, and a Band of Knights of Othus as well. The Clergy having prophets on their side usually resolve conflict before they even become a thought of thy enemy. The Priest/ess Ability Requirements: Knowledge Domain, Cleric of at least 3 levels, and a base Wisdom or Intelligence of 15 Alignment: Lawful, True, and Chaotic Neutral only. Typical Feats: None Typical Skills: Lore Description of a Priest/ess: A Priest of Othus usually has to be a good natured person, but must have a strong will and discipline. They are forced to act in a state of neutrality as much as possible; especially political issues. Most Priests are usually in some ways a prophet. Becoming a Priest/ess: In order to become a priest you must first be blessed by the Archbishop himself in a ceremony and have written your first book to add to the library. After the ceremony you are a priest and begin your ten year pilgrimage of knowledge in the name of Othus. When you return you can become a Bishop. Priests and up must submit one book a year as a tithe to Othus. Priest/ess returns from their pilgrimage they will have 11 completed books to their name.
Disgrace; Book burning, destroying of artefacts or defacing a monument or statue. False historic tomes are to be seized by the church immediately. If someone of unauthorized pretences enters the Hidden Halls of Othus and informs anyone else of what they witnessed. Book burning of any tomes found in the Temple without the full permission of the clergy, which is HIGHLY unlikely to ever be granted, stealing of any kind of anything that belongs to the temple, or attack on anyone inside the safety of Sanctuary.

BANISHED LESSER DEITY
Shard Lady of Wishes
Symbol : Two Hands, flat with palms upturned Alignment : Chaotic Neutral (CN) Portfolio : Wish-granting, Illusion, Deception, Persuasion, Beauty, Love Domains : Trickery, Magic Favoured Weapon : Unknown -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shard was perhaps the mightiest of all the Dark Ascended. She clearly believed that her powers had grown sufficient to make the leap to godhood. Claiming to be the Lady of Wishes she used her beauty and power to form a small religious following in the hopes of achieving her goal of minor deity. She claimed to have once been one of the foremost deities of the realm and had been stripped of her powers by Vadriphose when she refused to grant his wishes - and as such was a returning god and not a new pretender to the pantheon.
Whatever her motivation or true existence, her plan to regain power failed when the heroes of Treegum enacted a systematic execution of any who followed her and eventually seemed to strip her of her powers too - none can say with what cause they did this, but with her temples burned and her believers murdered it is rare to see any that still follow her supposed doctrines of tolerance, love and wish-granting.
This is perhaps due to many still believing her to be nothing more then a priestess with a keen skill for mind tricks.
Her two Dark-Ascended champions Corona and Tymeov were also deposed.
